The Grand Traverse City

Traverse City is a small gem nestled in the Northwest tip of the lower peninsula of Michigan, such a beautiful place to visit (and possibly to live!). I had the opportunity (more like, I have to get outta here! Traverse City here I come!) to take a small road trip to Traverse City over Labor Day weekend. On the agenda was bike riding (Tart Trail), wineries (Black Star Farms...yum!), Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, downtown shopping, cherry pie at Grand Traverse Pie Company and some great pizza at Paesano's. Everything was accomplished, however fall decided to come with a vengeance while we were up there, temperatures dropped into the high 40's and low 50's with winds up to 50 miles per hour! Enjoy the photos :)

the marina...with the boats all docked because of a gail force wind warning!

...she made it!

at the top of the first dune...did not go all the way to lake michigan because the sand was blowing so much, it was painful!

the best part is running down!
