I am a proud resident of "Hockeytown". Here in Michigan, especially in Detroit, things are kind of bleak. The economy is nothing short of terrible, people have lost or are losing their jobs (Michigan has the highest unemployment percentage in the country) and many people are losing their homes to foreclosure. In Detroit, our sports teams definitely help bring the city together (yes, even the Lions, we collectively agree that they are awful, but their ours), right now the Red Wings are in the first round of the Stanley Cup Play-offs and it gives us all something to cheer about. The Red Wings have not had the best season, riddled with injuries and its absolutely possible they will not make it as far as we would like into the play-offs as the city would like, but we will cheer them on forever. Lets Go Red Wings! (clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)
